It's a band founded around the year 2004 by Henryk "Szkot" Czekała. The line-up of Szkocka Trupa is an open artistic formula, but what remains unchanged is the schedule of the concerts – the leader’s favourite tracks are always played. Among them are folk songs of the past, based on American or Irish sources, as well as contemporary sailing songs. Of course, as you would expect from a seasoned shanty-man, there are also shanties – sailor songs about work on old decks. Only on the Szkocka Trupa gigs can you hear such hits as „Hiszpańskie dziewczyny”[Spanish wenches] or „Cztery piwka”[Four beers] in new arrangements, interpreted, sung and played differently. Each of these musicians brings a part of himself, his experiences and skills. Together they form a nice mixture of styles, but above all they are having a great time with the audience each time.
